Newham College is seeking a dynamic and experiencedHead of Health and Safetyto lead the strategic and operational management of health, safety, and compliance across all our campuses. This is a high-impact role at the heart of the College's Estates and Facilities team, with responsibility for fostering a culture of safety for students, staff, and visitorsalike.About the RoleAs Head of Health and Safety, you will:Develop and lead the college-wide health and safety strategyEnsure legal and regulatory compliance across multiple sitesLead a dedicated H&S team and provide expert guidance to the senior leadershipOversee risk management, incident reporting, emergency planning, and auditsDeliver training programs and champion a positive, proactive safety cultureThis role is critical in supporting a safe, inclusive, and sustainable learning environment across our diverse and vibrant community.About YouWe are looking for someone who:Holds aNEBOSH Diplomaor equivalent Level 6 qualification and isGradIOSH or CMIOSHHas extensive experience in a senior H&S role, ideally in education or a multi-site organisationBrings in-depth knowledge of UK H&S legislation and best practicesIs a confident communicator, able to influence at all levels and present to governance boardsIs proactive, strategic, and passionate about continuous improvement in safety standardsA degree in a relevant subject, experience in the FE sector, and a formal teaching/training qualification are desirable..In return, you’ll benefit from:A supportive leadership team and positive working environmentOpportunities for continued professional developmentCompetitive salary and benefits packageAccess to all campuses, including specialist and flagship sitesCommitment to equality, diversity, and safeguardingSafeguarding of Children and Vulnerable AdultsAll employment offers are made subject to checks, in line with Keeping Children Safe in Education guidelines.
