Workshop Engineer - LOLER

Job Description Mr Plant Hire is looking for a skilled and proactive Workshop Fitter to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing a range of plant machinery and equipment, ensuring everything is safe, reliable, and ready for use. As Workshop Fitter you will work with specialist tools and diagnostic equipment to keep our fleet operating at the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesInspect machinery and equipment for defectsCarry out servicing and planned maintenancePerform routine inspections across various types of equipmentDismantle, repair, and replace faulty componentsReassemble and test components to ensure safe operationComplete pre-delivery checks on new equipmentUse diagnostic reports to identify faultsMaintain accurate and up-to-date service recordsEscalate complex faults to managers as requiredSafely operate a wide range of specialist toolsMaintain a clean, tidy, and safe workshop environmentFollow PPE and safety guidance at all timesQualifications & ExperiencePrevious industry experience in a similar roleProven experience diagnosing and repairing plant, machinery, or lifting equipment (essential)NVQ Level 2 in Plant and Machinery Maintenance (desirable)Manufacturer training on relevant industry productsIPAF categories 3a, 3b, 1b (for powered access equipment)Person SpecificationWere looking for a Workshop Fitter who:Works effectively on their own initiativeIs creative and willing to suggest improvement ideasThrives as part of a teamDemonstrates strong organisational skillsCan confidently use, repair, and maintain machinery and toolsShows excellent attention to detailIs computer literateTreats colleagues with respect and professionalismActively promotes a safe working environmentConsistently follows PPE guidanceWhy Join Us?At Mr Plant Hire, youll be part of a supportive and experienced team within a growing business.
