Job DescriptionSenior Rust Engineer - Low-Level Systems | High-Performance | Hybrid LondonI'm working with a leading financial technology organisation building ultra-low latency systems at scale, and we're looking for a Senior Rust Engineer with a strong grounding in low-level systems programming.This is an opportunity to join a high-calibre team of engineers pushing the boundaries of performance and reliability in a demanding, mission-critical environment. The systems you'll help build operate in the microsecond range and demand deep OS, networking, and concurrency knowledge.What You'll Be Working On:Designing and developing low-latency, high-throughput microservices in RustBuilding and refining core components of a proprietary event-driven frameworkWorking closely with architects and infrastructure engineers to optimise performance across the stackDeveloping systems with a focus on resilience, fault-tolerance, and scalabilityDriving performance improvements with hardware-aware optimisations and Kernel-bypass techniquesWhat We're Looking For:Deep understanding of systems-level programming (Rust, C, C++)Experience with manual memory management, concurrency, and MultithreadingFamiliarity with Linux internals, system calls, and networking (eg, epoll, io_uring)Bonus points for experience with:Kernel bypass (Solarflare, DPDK)Building custom allocators or working in no_std environmentsPrior work in trading, Real Time systems, or performance-sensitive environments (previous finance experience not crucial)Tech Stack Highlights:Rust, Linux, GitHub, CI/CD (CircleCI), Docker, TCP/UDP, Playwright (some teams), OpenOnload, AWSThe Offer:Base salary up to ~140,000 depending on experienceHybrid working: 2-3 days/week in a London officeExcellent benefits: pension, medical, 27+ days leave, bonusWhy This Role:This is a career-defining opportunity to work on some of the most cutting-edge low-latency systems in the industry.
