What you'll be doing As a Technical Architect, you'll play a key role in translating high-level solution designs into detailed, scalable and secure low-level designs. You'll work closely with Solution Architects, Engineering Principals, Developers, Product Owners and SREs to ensure every solution meets both functional and non-functional requirements. You'll champion architectural standards, manage technical debt, lead documentation efforts and drive improvements across domains. You'll support incident resolution, evaluate emerging technologies and lead proof-of-concept activity to keep our technology forward-thinking and efficient. You'll also support cloud and infrastructure cost optimisation and ensure that third-party technical outputs align with Evri's architectural principles. This role is hybrid/remote, with connection points into Morley when required. Responsibilities Produce and maintain Low-Level Designs aligned with solution architecture and business needs. Ensure designs meet architectural standards and escalate deviations where required. Publish and maintain API contracts and support the Developer Portal. Identify and manage technical debt, supporting prioritisation with squads. Drive refactoring and technical improvement initiatives. Support incident investigation and resolution with engineering teams. Lead documentation and standardisation across product areas. Evaluate new technologies and lead proof-of-concept work. Translate solution designs into actionable work items and shape requirements. Manage and optimise cloud and infrastructure costs. Collaborate with other architects to align on standards and best practice. Review third-party architectural designs for compliance. Advise stakeholders and raise risks that may impact delivery or standards. Work with Data Architects to support required data artefacts. Interested? Here's what you'll need to be successful: Strong experience designing and delivering technical solutions within complex environments. Hands-on AWS knowledge (including serverless) and strong experience with Java and Spring Boot. Solid understanding of modern coding practices, API contract management and object-oriented design. Experience with distributed systems, messaging architectures and a range of database technologies. Strong communication and documentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex technical concepts. Collaborative, proactive and confident working with cross-functional teams. Comfortable identifying technical debt, proposing improvements and influencing architectural decisions. BSc/MSc in Computer Science or equivalent experience; AWS certifications desirable.
