Job DescriptionLegal Counsel Financial Services | London (Office-based) Permanent | Full-timeAn established international bank with a long-standing presence in London is seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join its close-knit legal and governance function.Operating within a highly regulated environment, the bank supports cross-border financial activity and trade, with an emphasis on robust compliance and corporate governance.As Legal Counsel, youll work directly with senior stakeholders to deliver clear, practical advice across a range of legal and regulatory matters. This is a broad, varied position offering exposure to commercial contracts, employment law, company secretarial duties, and customer agreements. The role also involves oversight of external legal providers and contributing to internal policy and procedural updates.Key responsibilities include:Reviewing, drafting, and negotiating contracts with suppliers, service providers, and customersProviding legal input on employment law, disputes, and claims managementSupporting company secretarial and corporate governance mattersAdvising on regulatory changes and the legal impact on bank policies and operationsLiaising with and instructing external counsel as requiredWhat we're looking for:UK-qualified lawyer (preferred) with a minimum of 5 years experience in financial servicesDemonstrable experience advising on banking products, employment law, and general commercial legal mattersProactive and confident communicator with strong research and drafting skillsExperience with corporate governance or company secretarial matters is beneficialPlease note: This is a full-time, office-based position in central London.
