Job DescriptionEddison's are a leading firm of Chartered Surveyors, working in fast moving and dynamic markets across the UK. We pride ourselves on our ability to deliver highly effective and innovative solutions for our clients.This role sits within our Plant & Machinery Division who specialise in the valuation and sale of industrial plant & machinery, commercial and retail stock, motor vehicles etcAssets are sold both within the UK and overseas and this job holder will assist in preparing goods for sale. More specifically:To undertake the preparation of auctions and sales, both in-house and offsiteTo assist the Directors in valuing assets and compiling inventoriesTo co-ordinate the logistics of moving goods from site to siteTo support and contribute to the growth of the Eddisons businessKey ResponsibilitiesPrepare assets for sale, listing and cataloguing as appropriate, mainly offsiteRecognise the value of assetsEstablish the suitability of assets for saleDirect onsite staff, including contractors, when required, to ensure that projects are completed to the appropriate standard and within agreed timescalesCommunicate with Clients ensuring they are appraised of progress, as requiredCompile inventories of assetsPrepare goods for removal including palletising and parcelsPrepare comprehensive removal plans for the movement of goods from site to sitePlan and co-ordinate the timely removal of assets from site for delivery as appropriateFacilitate the collection of goods in house and onsitePlan and facilitate the clearance of sites including disposal of relevant items as per guidelines, to the appropriate standard and within agreed timescalesEffectively control costs within projects, adhering to budgetsRecognise out of scope work and be able to recommend solutionsRecognise and introduce new business opportunitiesAdhere to all Health & Safety policiesJob RequirementsGood knowledge of plant & machinery and logisticsExcellent standard of written and verbal communicationSound planning and organisational skills with an eye for attention to detailCapable of solving problems using initiativeSelf-motivated and a strong team playerAbility to work independently and with minimal structure whilst exercising great judgementFlexible with the ability to work away from home for periods and at short noticeFull, clean Driving LicencePassportForklift Licence an advantage, although training can be providedNEBOSH qualification an advantage. If this is not held, the applicant will be expected to study for this, which will be paid for by the companyThis role will involve manual work
