Job DescriptionLighting Designer / Senior Lighting Designer (1 year FTC - Maternity Cover)Location: Flexible (London/Manchester/Bristol/Oxford)Sector: Built Environment & DesignStart Date: Immediate or as soon as possible Fixed-term maternity coverWere working with a highly respected, multidisciplinary consultancy renowned for delivering world-class lighting design across a range of sectors, and theyre looking for a talented Lighting Designer or Senior Lighting Designer to join their award-winning team on a maternity cover contract.This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established team known for pushing creative and technical boundaries, combining environmental sensitivity with cutting-edge design.The Role:Youll be hands-on across the full design lifecycle, from concept to completion, delivering thoughtful, human-centred, and environmentally conscious lighting schemes. Youll contribute to both artificial and daylighting projects, as well as support strategic lighting assessments, visualisations, and lighting impact reports.Expect to be involved in:Creative concept development, client presentations, and technical design packagesProducing drawings, lighting calculations, specifications, and control strategiesParticipating in site-based activities including testing, focusing, and commissioningCollaborating across disciplines and attending key design meetingsSupporting biodiversity and dark sky initiatives through lighting strategyWere looking for someone with:A background in lighting design (creative or technical) and relevant industry experienceProficiency in design tools such as AutoCAD, Revit, Photoshop, InDesign, and ideally Rhino 3DA keen eye for detail and a genuine passion for lighting and visual environmentsExcellent communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in a teamA flexible and confident approach, able to hit the ground runningThis is a rare chance to join a leading practice that values creativity, innovation, and sustainability.
