Job DescriptionThe key information:Were looking for an aspiring Middleweight Designer to support our growing client portfolio, in a busy, growing design agency in EC1.Salary: 35,000 - 38,000 DOEWhat youll offer:As our next designer, you will need to possess an enthusiastic approach to visual and conceptual problem-solving, be passionate about communication in all its forms (its not just about how it looks), and have a desire to demonstrate and expand your abilities.You will naturally have an excellent understanding of all core design principles, strong background in typography and layout, with the ability to understand briefs, propose and articulate conceptual solutions, take constructive feedback, and develop and refine work for final delivery across print and digital media.You will ideally have a broad portfolio of work, demonstrating both a conceptual and commercial understanding of design practice, across both live and self-initiated briefs.As an aspiring Junior Designer looking to make the step up to Middleweight, or an established Middleweight looking to expand your skills and experience, youll pay special attention to demonstrating your strong underlying creative talent.You will have excellent skills in the core Adobe Creative Suite applications, with experience in any other creative platforms across varying disciplines being a bonus.What well offer:Youll be working under our Head of Design (overseen by our Creative Director), in an open, collaborative, friendly studio.Well make the successful candidate an integral part of a close-knit, expanding team, with the opportunity to have sight of, and meaningful input throughout the entire creative process.Well offer the chance to develop not only creatively but commercially, with opportunities to work on pitches and interface with clients if you choose, and to develop and grow through both giving and receiving creative critique, and expanding and developing their creative credentials in an open, flexible, supportive environment.What well ask of you:To understand briefs, and propose visual and conceptual solutionsTo create initial design solutions of varying styles and complexitiesTo articulate your creative approach, to self-evaluate, and respond positively to creative directionTo constructively interpret feedback and incorporate into final executionsTo produce final design solutions (finished logo files, print-ready artwork, digital assets)To pitch creative ideas, both internally, and, when necessary, externally.What youll need to haveAn strong, diverse portfolioMinimum of 3-4 years of agency experience (or similar, were flexible on this)Excellent Adobe Creative Suite skills, in a minimum of InDesign, Photoshop and Illustrator, with After Effects, Premiere Pro and Xd being desirable, with any additional software experience (Figma, Blendr, etc) being an added bonusA basic understanding of HTML5 would be of significant benefitSolid experience at all stages of the creative process (e.g. conceptualisation, development, refinement, supply, and production, etc.) with a willingness to learn, take direction, and expand your knowledgeA strong understanding of all core design principlesThe ability to work in, and have meaningful input to a close, close, collaborative teamExceptional and consistent eye for detail (typos in your portfolio are not a good look!)A genuine creative talent and a desire to express this through visual problem-solvingA BA-level or equivalent qualification in a design related field is desirable, but absolutely not essential.What else well offer:Free gym membership (unlimited use)Additional annual leave day for birthdayFlexible workingQuarterly skill review with supplemental training course provision.How to apply:Send your portfolio (either link, or PDF, or profile URL) to [email protected] by 30th June 2025.
