Youll start your day by checking in with your crews, confirming vehicle readiness, reviewing planned routes, and ensuring everyone has the right equipment and safety briefing.Youre the go-to person on site, supporting staff, resolving issues, keeping operations running smoothly and safely, and maintaining high recycling and service standards for residents. Throughout the day, youll: Visit sites and collection rounds Monitor performance Liaise with depot management, councils and stakeholders Use operational systems such as Asset Go, CMS and Microsoft Office to keep everything on trackEvery day is different, and you play a key role in making sure our services operate to the highest possible standard.What will you be doing? Ensuring the health & safety of all personnel and visitors Implementing the company SHEQ Policy Conducting risk assessments, aspects and impacts analyses Providing written safe working instructions Ensuring compliance with accident/incident reporting procedures Verifying staff competence, training and valid licences Leading investigations and disciplinary procedures where required Supervising and coordinating collection operations Monitoring health, safety, quality and performance across the borough Conducting staff training, inductions and safety briefings Liaising with councils, contractors and key stakeholders Promoting recycling, efficiency and continuous improvement Using systems such as Asset Go, CMS and Microsoft Office for reporting and audits Travelling between sites as neededAbout You Previous supervisory experience (waste, logistics or environmental services desirable) Strong leadership and people management skills Proactive, safety-focused attitude Excellent communication and organisation skills IT competent (Microsoft Office, CMS, Safeguard) Clean driving licence (LGV and CPC advantageous) Knowledge of local geography Professional, reliable and self-motivated Flexible with working hours (some on-call expected)About UsWe are FCC Environment, one of the UKs leading waste and resource management companies.
