Job Description Medical Secretary / Personal AssistantCentral London, SITE BASEDSalary: 30,000 - 33,000 per annum Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9.00am 6.00pm (rota one evening per week 11.30am 8.00pm) Annual Leave: 20 days + public holidaysOur client is a busy, fast-paced private psychiatry practice looking for a confident, outgoing and highly organised Secretary/PA to join their close-knit team. If you thrive in an environment where no two days are the same and you love being at the centre of things, this could be the perfect role for you.About the roleYou'll be the backbone of our clinic operations, supporting consultants and the Practice Manager day-to-day while ensuring patients receive a seamless and professional experience from first contact through to billing.The client uses Semble as our patient management system and DNA Payments for billing, and full training will be provided on both.Things can change quickly; consultants will often come to you with urgent requests and you'll need to pivot without missing a beat. You'll be working closely with the whole team, so keeping everyone in the loop and communicating clearly is just as important as getting the tasks done.Key responsibilitiesManaging daily outpatient clinic schedules: booking and co-ordinating appointments across multiple practitionersDiary management and supporting the Medical Director with day-to-day PA dutiesPreparing and formatting clinical correspondence and medical recordsHandling new patient enquiries, explaining services and pricing clearly and confidentlyRaising invoices, collecting payments and issuing receiptsLiaising with insurance companies and other third parties regarding claimsMaintaining accurate records in our patient management systemOrdering supplies and managing the day-to-day running of the premisesProviding general administrative and practice support as neededAbout youOutgoing and personable: you're not afraid to get stuck in and enjoy working in a lively environmentAn exceptional multitasker: you can juggle competing priorities and switch tasks at pace without dropping the ballDynamic and adaptable: you respond positively when plans change and consultants bring last-minute requestsA natural communicator: you keep colleagues informed, handle sensitive conversations professionally and build trust with patientsHighly organised: you plan strategically while managing the demands of a busy daySound IT skills across MS Office and web-based platforms; experience with patient management systems is a bonus, though not essential as training will be givenComfortable working with financial data: reconciling payments, invoicing and liaising with third partiesDiscreet and professional: patient and commercial confidentiality is paramountAudio typing experience is not required for this roleThe packageSalary: up to 33,000 per annumHours: 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday (one evening rota per week)Annual leave: 20 days plus public holidaysSix-month probationary period with reviews at one, three and six monthsThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.BSR Health are a Specialist Healthcare Agency.
