We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Head of Retail to lead our retail operations, drive sales growth, and ensure exceptional customer service across all store locations. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, a comprehensive understanding of retail sales, inventory control, and team leadership. This role involves strategic planning, staff development, and operational oversight to maximize store performance and customer satisfaction.A company car will be provided and eligibility for a bonus of up to 50% of base salary.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement retail strategies to achieve sales targets and business objectivesOversee daily store operations, including inventory management, merchandising, and pricing strategiesLead, motivate, and manage a team of retail staff, including hiring, training, and performance evaluationsManage payroll, cash handling, and bookkeeping activities ensuring accuracy and complianceEstablish and enforce clear operational standards to ensure consistency of customer experience, compliance and commercial performance across the estateConduct employee orientation, training & development programs to enhance team skills and product knowledgeSupervise inventory control processes to prevent stock discrepancies and optimize stock levelsOversee POS systems, cashiering activities, and ensure efficient checkout processesCoordinate purchasing decisions in collaboration with suppliers to ensure product availability and cost efficiencyMonitor retail math metrics such as sales per square foot, average transaction value, and gross profit marginsImplement marketing initiatives to promote store products and increase foot trafficEnsure excellent customer service by maintaining high standards of communication skills and phone etiquetteManage store merchandising efforts to align with brand standards and seasonal campaignsConduct regular store audits to ensure compliance with company policies and safety regulationsUtilize organizational skills to streamline workflows and improve overall store efficiencyBuild a high performance Area Management structure with clear standards, accountability and development pathwaysRequirementsProven management experience in retail environments, preferably in grocery or specialty stores with supervisory responsibilitiesStrong leadership skills with the ability to supervise teams effectively and foster a positive work environmentExcellent communication skills in multiple languages; bilingual abilities are a plusProficiency in retail management software including POS systems, inventory management tools, and payroll systemsDemonstrated experience in employee recruitment, interviewing, training & developmentSkilled in retail math for pricing strategies, budgeting, sales management, and financial analysisAbility to handle cash handling procedures accurately and confidently manage cashiering operationsStrong organizational skills with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentExperience with marketing initiatives such as merchandising or promotional campaigns is desirableKnowledge of wireless sales or other specialty product categories is advantageousExcellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectivelyPrevious store management experience required; supervisory experience is essentialThis position offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated leader passionate about retail management.
