Accounts & Payroll Assistant Location: Liverpool Salary: 30-35,000 Employment Type: Permanent, Full-Time A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join a well-established, international business operating within a highly regulated manufacturing environment. This is a varied and hands-on role ideal for someone with a blend of payroll experience and solid all-round accounts knowledge, looking to develop within a supportive finance function. We're looking for someone detail-driven, proactive and confident working across multiple entities within a fast-paced environment. The Role You will support the Finance and HR teams across a broad range of activities, including: Payroll Responsibilities Collate, validate and upload payroll data to a third-party payroll provider Review payroll cycle reports to ensure accuracy Support payroll sign-off processes Act as the first point of contact for employee payroll and pension queries Liaise with HR and Finance as the subject matter expert for payroll matters Accounting Responsibilities Post bank transactions and maintain cashbook reconciliations Complete monthly bank, balance sheet and intercompany reconciliations Process accruals, prepayments and general ledger postings Support month-end close and reporting activities Assist with annual audit requirements Ensure timely and accurate entry of financial information into SAP Identify and support process improvements across finance What We're Looking For Minimum 2 years' experience in accounting, ideally in a manufacturing or multi-entity environment Payroll experience is essential Strong knowledge of SAP FI/SD/MM modules Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, V-lookups) High attention to detail and excellent organisational skills Ability to work to tight deadlines in a busy month-end environment Confident communicator able to liaise with colleagues at all levels What You'll Gain Exposure to a complex, multi-national finance environment Opportunities for continuous improvement involvement Supportive team culture committed to ongoing development A role that covers both technical payroll and accounting experience If you're an experienced Accounts or Finance Assistant with solid payroll knowledge - or a payroll professional looking to broaden your finance skillset - we'd love to hear from you.
