Main purpose of the role To provide a professional, efficient and effective material scheduling and purchasing function for the regional business unit supporting the commercial team and contributing to the overall business plan. Key Accountabilities: Provide scheme specific material budgets for site start budget process Place bulk call off materials orders and adhoc purchase orders to meet the needs of the regional business Resolve supplier issues to ensure the efficient delivery of materials to site Support the implementation of strategic framework agreements Produce accurate material take offs and schedules in accordance with regional development programme requirements Maintain completion up to date database of material schedules and costs for all house types (standard/RSL/Bespoke). Feed into bible costs as required by regional commercial team Procurement of materials and placing orders ensuring delivery to site in accordance with: Standard company operating procedures Standard conditions of purchase Cost / profit improvement targets Required quality and quantity Programmed delivery dates Actively contribute to enhancing regional profits Track material cost fluctuations/price increases and highlight any adjustments to the regional commercial team Keep detailed records and maintain a well-organized work schedule Prepare and contribute to cost reports in order to maximize efficiencies within the business Provide support to Accounts team to ensure prompt resolution of invoice queries / issues Contribute to the development of improved purchasing processes and procedures Participate and contribute to regular Supply Chain Team meetings and forums to communicate developments, share good practice and up skill our people Build excellent supplier relations; Participate in establishing the business as an industry leader in Supply Chain Management HS&S Responsibilities To take care of your own health and safety and that of others who may be affected by your work and adhere to the Keepmoat Health, Safety and Sustainability standards. Skills, knowledge & experience Essential: This is not an exhaustive list of the technical experience that we seek in this role, but what we consider to be critical to the success of this role: Flexible and agile approach Skilled in relationship building and stakeholder engagement Enthusiastic, self-motivated, solutions focused approach Prepared to work within a large geographical area Excellent level of numeracy and skilled in verbal and written comms High level of computer literacy in MS Office Com Commercial acumen Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specification Ability to take-off materials and schedule Proven track record Desirable: Knowledge of people management tools and techniques e.g. talent mapping; succession planning etc Covered a more senior role to support upward management experience Education & qualifications Essential: Construction related qualification (ONC / HNC).
