Job Description Payroll and Benefits Officer Liverpool City Centre | Hybrid 36,600 per annumAbout the RoleWe're looking for a strong, handson Payroll and Benefits Officer to take ownership of the daytoday payroll, pensions and benefits operation role is heavily payrollfocused. The wider payroll team will be involved in a major HR system implementation project, and this position will play a critical role in ensuring that businessasusual payroll activity continues to run smoothly throughout the transition.Experience of working within an ITdriven or systemsled environment would be highly beneficial.What You'll Be DoingPayroll, Pensions & Benefits (Primary Focus)Run the daytoday payroll and pensions process accurately and on timeAdminister reward and benefits including LGPS, GPP, mileage, holiday trading, starters and leaversEnsure payroll data is accurate, compliant and qualitycheckedProcess payroll journals, reconciliations and yearend requirementsAct as the main point of contact for payroll, benefits and pension queriesSupporting Systems ChangeMaintain payroll stability while the wider team delivers an HR system changeWork confidently with payroll and people systems to manage data accuratelyIdentify issues early and ensure continuity of service during transitionCompliance & GovernanceStay up to date with payroll and pensions legislationSupport audits, controls and procedural updatesEnsure payroll data and processes meet statutory and internal requirementsStakeholder SupportProvide clear, practical advice to internal customersWork closely with People Services and Finance teamsWhat We're Looking ForEssentialStrong, proven experience in payroll (this is a handson role)Excellent knowledge of payroll legislation and complianceExperience administering LGPS pension schemesHigh attention to detail and data accuracyConfidence working with HR/payroll systems and ExcelComfortable managing confidential information and tight deadlinesDesirablePayroll or pensions qualification (e.
