Job Description Location: Merseyside (Hybrid working)Reporting to: Managing DirectorSalary: CompetitiveContract: PermanentClosing Date: 8th of MayAbout the RoleTower Transit, part of the Kelsian Group, is a leading UK bus operator undergoing a period of significant growth. As we actively pursue new bus franchise contracts and M&A opportunities across the UK, we are seeking a dedicated Health, Safety & Environmental Manager to take full ownership of our HSE function in Merseyside.Reporting directly to the Managing Director, this is a standalone role where you will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and managing our environmental obligations across all operational sites. This is a hands-on, high-impact position suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced, shift-based operational environment.Key Responsibilities Health & Safety Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies and procedures in line with current legislation and best practice across all Tower Transit operations. Environmental Management: Oversee environmental compliance obligations, supporting the business in meeting its sustainability and regulatory commitments. Incident Management: Lead on the investigation of accidents, incidents, and near-misses, ensuring robust root cause analysis and corrective actions are implemented. Training & Awareness: Deliver and coordinate HSE training programmes to embed a safety-first culture throughout the workforce. Audit & Reporting: Conduct regular site audits and produce clear, actionable reports for senior leadership on HSE performance. Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies, insurers, and external auditors on all HSE matters.About You NEBOSH qualified (essential). IEMA or equivalent environmental qualification (desired but not essential). Proven experience in a similar HSE role, ideally within transportation, logistics, manufacturing, or another fast-paced operational environment. Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and environmental regulations. A practical, solutions-focused approach with the ability to engage and influence at all levels of the business.
