Reporting to the Head of Corporate Finance, you'll provide strategic direction, operational leadership and expert guidance on complex tax matters.nnKey responsibilities include:nnntDeveloping and implementing a comprehensive tax strategy aligned with organisational goalsntOverseeing compliance across VAT, Corporation Tax, PAYE/NIC and customs dutiesntManaging tax audits, HMRC enquiries and maintaining a robust tax risk registerntAdvising senior leadership on tax implications of strategic initiatives, including international expansion and capital projectsntLeading and developing a high-performing tax team, fostering a culture of collaboration and service excellencentRepresenting the organisation in sector-wide tax forums and maintaining strong relationships with HMRC and external advisorsnnnnThis is a senior leadership role where you'll act independently, influence decision-making and contribute to strategic financial planning.nnnWhat you'll need to succeednTo succeed in this Head of Tax role you will need:nnntExtensive experience in tax advisory and compliance within a complex organisationntIn-depth knowledge of UK tax legislation, particularly VAT, Corporation Tax and employment taxesntA recognised tax or accountancy qualification (CTA or Equivalent)ntProven ability to lead and develop teams and manage complex projectsntStrong analytical, communication and stakeholder engagement skillsntAbility to work under pressure, prioritise competing demands and deliver to tight deadlinesnnnnnDesirable:nnntExperience with Unit4 ERP systemsntKnowledge of tax in thenot-for-profit or public sectorntUnderstanding of overseas tax issuesnnnnnWhat you'll get in returnnYou'll benefit from a hybrid working model (2 days in the office a week).
