Driver Rustington, West Sussex About Us Were Blind Veterans UK, a charity that helps vision-impaired ex-service people from every generation rebuild their lives regardless of how or when they lost their sight. Founded in 1915 by Sir Arthur Pearson to help the many veterans losing their sight after the First World War, we have supported those blinded in subsequent wars and military engagements, including the Second World War, and more recently, the conflicts in the Falklands, Iraq and Afghanistan. We are now looking for a part-time Driver to join us on a permanent basis, working 15 hours per week. The role will involve working evenings and weekends as required and undertaking some overnight stays. The Role As a Driver, youll provide a safe and enjoyable transportation service to the people using our services to and from our Rustington Centre and on journeys throughout their stay. Using a variety of vehicles, you will help create positive member experiences, ensuring a seamless service, transporting members for appointments or group outings, and focusing on safety, support and communication. As part of your role, you will: - Plan and manage routes considering passenger needs and comfort - Perform routine vehicle checks and report any issues - Escort and provide sighted guiding when required - Assess venues for accessibility and suitability About You To be considered as a Driver, you will need: - A clean, valid driving licence with category D1 entitlement (for a minibus) - Experience in customer service - Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, databases and intranet systems - A solution-focused approach The closing date for this role is 25th April 2026.
