The OpportunityThis is a field-based role covering Cornwall and Devon, responsible for the installation, maintenance, servicing and repair of commercial coffee equipment, including traditional espresso machines, bean-to-cup systems and associated appliances.The position offers genuine long-term progression as the team grows toward a 5-engineer structure, with future leadership responsibilities available for the right individual.Key ResponsibilitiesReactive repairs, diagnostics and breakdown support across customer sitesPlanned preventative maintenance to minimise downtimePSSR / boiler safety checks where requiredInstallation and commissioning of espresso and bean-to-cup machinesUpdating service reports, workflow systems and van stock recordsOccasional workshop-based tasks at the Liskeard site (½ day to full day weekly depending on workload)Providing professional on-site customer support and basic end-user trainingSupporting the wider engineering team and contributing to continuous improvementCandidate RequirementsEssential ExperienceMechanical and electrical fault-finding competencyHands-on experience with commercial coffee machines (espresso and/or bean-to-cup)Previous field service engineering experienceFull UK driving licencePersonal AttributesSelf-motivated and comfortable working independentlyStrong customer service skills and professional mannerOrganised, proactive and reliableAble to support a large geographic region (Cornwall & Devon)Working Pattern8:30am – 5pm, with door-to-door travel paidField-based across Cornwall & DevonWorkshop presence required once a week (½ day to full day depending on workload)On-call rota: approximately once every 3 weeks (Saturday/Sunday)Salary, Benefits & Package£35,000–£40,000 depending on experienceFlexibility into the early £40s for exceptional candidates (typically post-probation)Company van/pool vehicle — available for personal useFuel card providedCompany pensionFree parking at Liskeard WorkshopTools, equipment, and uniform suppliedStrong engineering support from the in-house workshop teamProgression into senior/lead roles as the department expandsProgression Pathway (12–36 Months)As the engineering team grows, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to progress into a more senior or leadership-focused position, covering areas such as:Leading the engineering teamManaging parts, vehicle allocation 'stock systemsOverseeing schedules and service workflowsSupporting training of junior engineersDriving improvements across the service functionWhy This Role?Opportunity to join a growing, well-respected South West brandStrong mix of field autonomy and workshop supportRealistic progression into leadership as the team expandsSupportive family business cultureExcellent earning potential and benefits package
