OverviewCommunity Moorings Scotland’s mission is to create amazing places for boats and people on the canals of Scotland. We want more boats, moving more often, creating a vibrancy that stretches along the canals and inland to local communities. Role: TreasurerAs Treasurer, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the charity’s finances, ensuring financial sustainability and transparency. You'll work closely with the Board of Trustees and provide advice and guidance on financial matters. ResponsibilitiesMaintain an overview of the charity’s financial affairs Ensure proper records are kept and appropriate financial procedures are followed Produce regular financial reports and present them at trustee meetings Assist in budget planning and annual reporting Liaise with external accountants or auditors where necessary What We’re Looking ForExperience in finance, accounting, or bookkeeping (qualified or part-qualified accountant desirable but not essential) A clear understanding of financial management and reporting A commitment to the charity’s mission and values Willingness to dedicate roughly 10-12 hours/month to the role LocationCommunity Moorings is based next to the Union Canal just west of Linlithgow. Our address is: Orchard Bank Linlithgow EH49 6QY AvailabilityMon Tue Wed Thu Fri Sat Sun Availability times: Morning, Afternoon, Evening Frequency & commitmentWe would ask you to be present at board meetings once a month.
