Join us as a Ramp Agent and be part of the action on the ground!What You’ll DoAs a Ramp Agent, you’ll play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient turnaround of aircraft, delivering high-quality service to our customers and airline partners. You’ll be responsible for a range of ramp operations, including loading and unloading baggage, cargo, and mail, as well as operating ground service equipment and providing essential support services to aircraft on the ground.You’ll need to thrive in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment, working collaboratively as part of a team to ensure every flight departs on time and to the highest standard. Previous experience in ground handling or within an aviation setting is desirable, but not essential. A full UK driving license is required, and you must be willing to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and shifts.ResponsibilitiesAircraft & Ramp Operations:Safely load and unload baggage, cargo, and mail from aircraftOperate a variety of Ground Support Equipment (GSE), including belt loaders, tugs, and high loadersMarshal aircraft to and from gates using correct proceduresCarry out aircraft servicing tasks such as cabin cleaning, lavatory and water servicingEnsure safe and secure handling of all items and compliance with all regulationsMaintain safety, punctuality, and performance standards across all ramp operationsCustomer & Stakeholder Interaction:Deliver excellent service to airline partners and passengersBuild effective working relationships with colleagues, airport authorities, and third-party stakeholdersAttend and contribute to operational and safety briefings/meetingsAdministrative & Support Duties:Support the Ground Handling team with general administrative tasksAssist in providing holiday or absence cover as neededCommunicate effectively across teams to ensure seamless handovers and efficient workload managementMaintain clear, professional communication at all times, considering cultural and language differences when engaging with customers or regulatory officialsQualifications / RequirementsEducated to GCSE level (or equivalent)Full UK driving license (essential)Effective verbal and written communication skillsStrong team player with excellent interpersonal skillsAble to work flexible hours, including weekends and shiftsReliable, enthusiastic, and committed to supporting team objectivesWillingness to take initiative and support colleagues when requiredDesirables Previous experience within an aviation environment is desirable, but not essential.Familiarity with ramp safety procedures and ground service equipmentWhy Join WASL?
