Job Description Electrical EngineerAbout the OpportunityAn established and highly respected advanced manufacturing organisation is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to take ownership of electrical compliance and engineering activities across its site.This is a key role within the business, responsible for ensuring all electrical systems are safe, compliant, and capable of supporting both current operations and future growth. The successful candidate will act as the site's electrical technical authority, providing leadership, compliance oversight and project delivery expertise within a live industrial environment.Key ResponsibilitiesTake full responsibility for electrical compliance across the site, ensuring all statutory and regulatory requirements are metManage and maintain the Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) programmeOversee electrical inspection and testing activities to ensure work meets required standardsPlan, prioritise and manage remedial electrical worksProvide technical leadership, guidance and mentoring to site electriciansManage and supervise external electrical contractorsLead electrical projects, upgrades and improvement initiativesMaintain accurate compliance documentation and recordsEnforce health and safety standards and safe systems of workSkills & ExperienceProven experience within a commercial or industrial electrical environmentStrong background in inspection and testing, including EICRsExperience delivering electrical projects in a live manufacturing or industrial settingThorough working knowledge of BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) and practical on-site applicationAbility to read and interpret detailed electrical circuit diagramsExperience managing contractors and coordinating works safely and effectivelyPrevious supervisory, senior electrician or lead engineering experience desirableMethodical and detail-oriented approach to compliance and documentationStrong communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently across all levelsProactive, organised and capable of prioritising workload effectivelyCalm and professional under pressureConfident decision-maker with a strong sense of ownership and accountabilityAbility to mentor and develop others, sharing best practice and technical knowledgeQualificationsEssential:Recognised electrical qualification (e.g. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)City & Guilds 2391-52 (or equivalent) - Inspection & TestingCurrent BS 7671 (IET Wiring Regulations) certificationDesirable:HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent)Membership of a relevant professional bodyIOSH Managing Safely or equivalent health 'safety qualificationJBRP1_UKTJ
