Job DescriptionAnSnapshot of Your DayThenBusiness Improvement LeaderEngineering is responsible for leading and managingnprojects that focus on improving products and process performance to meetncustomer requirements while minimising defects and variability. This roleninvolves applying advanced statistical and quality management techniques tondrive innovation, improve product design, and enhance organisationalnperformance.HownYoull Make an ImpactProject Leadership:Led cross-functional teams in Six Sigma /n DFSS projects from conception through implementation, ensuring alignmentn with business goals.Define project scope, objectives, andn deliverables, and develop detailed project plans.Facilitate project meetings, ensuringn effective communication and collaboration among team members.Application of Six Sigma / DFSSn Methodologies:Utilise Six Sigma / DFSS methodologies ton guide product and process improvement efforts.Conduct Voice of the Customer analysisn to gather and prioritise customer requirements.Develop and implement designn specifications, performance metrics, and validation plans.Data Analysis and Statistical Tools:Apply advanced statistical tools andn techniques (e.g., Design of Experiments, regression analysis, hypothesisn testing) to analyse data and inform design decisions.Use software tools (e.g., Minitab) forn data analysis and visualisation.Interpret data and provide actionablen insights to drive design improvements.Risk Management:Conduct Failure Mode and Effectsn Analysis (FMEA) to identify potential design risks and develop mitigationn strategies.Implement robust design practices ton ensure reliability and performance under varying conditions.Monitor and assess project risksn throughout the project lifecycle.Collaboration and Training:Collaborate with engineering,n manufacturing, project management, and other departments to ensuren designs meet functional and market requirements.Mentor and train Green Belts and teamn members in Six Sigma / DFSS principles and tools.Foster a culture of continuousn improvement and innovation within the organisation.Documentation and Reporting:Maintain comprehensive projectn documentation, including project charters, design specifications, andn validation reports.Prepare and present project updates andn results to senior management and stakeholders.Ensure compliance with industryn standards and regulatory requirements in design processes.Continuous Improvement:Identify opportunities for processn improvements and cost reductions through innovative design solutions.Stay current with industry trends, bestn practices, and emerging technologies related to product design andn quality management.Lead initiatives to integrate Six Sigman / DFSS principles into the organisations quality management system.WhatnYou Bringn Education:Bachelors degree in Engineering,n Quality Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevantn certifications (e.g., ASQ Certified Six Sigma Black Belt, DFSSn certification) is preferred.n Experience:5+ years of experience in qualityn management, product design, or process improvement, focusing on Six Sigman / DFSS methodologies.n Technical Skills:Proficiency in statistical analysisn software (e.g., Minitab) and design tools (e.g., CAD software).n Interpersonal Skills:Strong leadership, communication,n and facilitation skills.n Analytical Skills:Ability to analyse complex datan sets and make data-driven decisions.n Project Management:Experience in managing multiple projects andn leading cross-functional teams.nAbout the TeamOur Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization.
