Job Description At McDermotts, were hiring a Project Manager to join our dynamic team.We are seeking a highly skilled Project Manager and communicator to support the McDermotts function in these areas Lincoln.To be considered for the role you must have:The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, coordination, and delivery of drainage and civil engineering packages on infrastructure and construction projects. Working within a contracting environment, the role requires strong technical capability, commercial awareness, and leadership skills to ensure projects are delivered safely, on programme, within budget, and to specification.Main ResponsibilitiesProject DeliveryManage the endtoend delivery of drainage, highways, earthworks, and associated civil engineering packagesCommercial & ContractualManage project costs, forecasts, and cash flow in conjunction with the commercial teamSupport preparation and agreement of valuations, variations, and final accountsAdminister contracts (typically NEC, JCT, or bespoke forms)Manage and mitigate project risks and opportunitiesHealth, Safety, Environment & QualityEnsure full compliance with CDM Regulations 2015Drive high standards of HSEQ performance across site teams and supply chainEnsure works are delivered in line with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs) and quality requirementsLeadership & ManagementLead and manage site teams including Site Managers, Engineers, and SubcontractorsCoordinate and chair site, progress, and client meetingsMentor and develop junior members of the project teamMaintain productive working relationships with clients, designers, and stakeholdersClient & Stakeholder ManagementAct as the main point of contact for the client on allocated projectsManage interfaces with utility providers, local authorities, and thirdparty stakeholdersPrepare and present progress reports to senior management and clientsTypical Project ScopeSurface water & foul drainage installations (including SUDS)Section 278 / 38 highways worksEarthworks and groundworks packagesChambers, attenuation tanks, pumping stationsService diversions and deep drainageReinforced concrete structuresSkills & Experience RequiredEssentialProven experience as a Project Manager within UK civil engineeringStrong background in drainage and infrastructure worksExperience working for a Tier 2 contractor or similar environmentGood working knowledge of NEC contractsAbility to manage multiple workstreams and subcontract packagesStrong leadership, communication, and problemsolving skillsExcellent understanding of construction sequencing and temporary worksDesirableExperience on design & build civil packagesExperience working on frameworks or repeatwork clientsKnowledge of SUDS design and approval processesExperience with rail, highways, or watersector worksQualificationsEssentialDegree or HND in Civil Engineering or Construction Management (or equivalent experience)SMSTSCSCS Black CardFull UK Driving LicenceDesirableMember of ICE, CIHT, or CIOBTemporary Works CoordinatorFirst Aid at WorkPersonal AttributesResultsdriven and commercially awareAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesStrong attention to detail with a proactive approachCollaborative leadership styleProfessional and clientfocused mindsetJob type: Full-timeWorking hours: 07:30 17:00Site location: LincolnWhy Join McDermottsMcDermotts is a nationwide civil engineering and groundworks company based in Birmingham, supporting some of the largest construction companies across the length and breadth of the UK.
