Health & Safety Manager (SHE) Up to 55k | Full-Time, Permanent An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health & Safety Manager to play a pivotal role in driving operational health and safety excellence for a Net-Zero megaproject . This full-time, permanent position offers a competitive salary of up to 55,000. In this role, you will provide strong leadership to develop, implement, and oversee rigorous health and safety procedures , ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements while promoting a positive safety culture across the organisation. Key Responsibilities: Provide proactive guidance on compliance with statutory Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) requirements and internal standards. Respond to SHE-related queries from colleagues and external organisations. Assist in completing risk assessments related to SHE as required. Work closely with operational teams to ensure SHE factors are considered at all project stages, identifying relevant control measures. Monitor and audit activities, offices, and work locations. Investigate incidents and produce factual reports with root cause analysis and recommendations for improvement. Liaise with authorities and external agencies as necessary. Ensure a robust SHE training programme is in place and promote a strong safety culture among employees. Deliver toolbox talks, briefings, and training to raise awareness of SHE issues. Skills & Experience: Essential: Minimum 3 years experience in a Safety, Health & Environmental role. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office and health and safety IT systems. Strong time management and ability to prioritise tasks effectively. Keen eye for detail and methodical approach to work. Experience producing analytical data and performance reports. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, adaptable to different audiences. Confident in engaging with Senior Managers, Clients, and Site Personnel. Ability to drive behavioural culture change programmes across large, complex, multi-shift operations. Awareness of GDPR principles. Flexible approach to working hours in a 24/7 environment. Desirable: Experience as a Safety, Health & Environmental Manager (3+ years). Experience with cloud-based SHE software systems. Qualifications & Knowledge: Essential: Valid Driving Licence. NEBOSH General Certificate. Membership of a professional body (e.g., IOSH). Desirable: NEBOSH Diploma. Knowledge of the transport industry. Additional Information: Initial training will require travel to Somerset for the first month. Candidates must be willing to undergo BPSS screening and obtain a DBS certificate TPBN1_UKTJ
