Framatome is a global leader in nuclear energy, recognised for delivering innovative, value-added technologies that design, build, maintain, and advance the world's nuclear fleet.Applying for this role is straight forward Scroll down and click on Apply to be considered for this position.With 20,000 employees in over 70 locations worldwide, we provide components, fuel, and control systems for nuclear power plants, along with a full suite of reactor services all focused on improving safety, performance, and sustainability.Backed by EDF Group (80.5%) and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (19.5%), we're driving the future of clean energy.Here in the UK, our team is already 400 strong and growing.As we expand our service offerings across the UK nuclear industry, we're aiming to reach 500 dedicated professionals in 2025.Now's your chance to join a company that's shaping the energy transition where your expertise will matter, your growth will be supported, and your work will help power generations to come.Job description The planned working pattern will be to carry out the following: Support the SZB Outage (scheduled for every 18 months for a 6-to-12-week period).Working in the SZB Maintenance Department.Work on overseas Outages in various countries including Finland, South Africa, Brazil etc.Key responsibilities will include Support refuelling and maintenance outages, including reactor loading and unloading activities.Operate specialised fuel handling equipment and machinery to move, install and remove nuclear fuel assemblies.Perform routine equipment checks, preventive maintenance, and report defects or abnormalities.Work closely with engineering, operations and radiation protection teams to ensure compliance and operational excellence.Participate in ongoing training, including specialised training coursers overseas.Adhere to procedures, relevant quality procedures and assist with quality records and documentation.Maintain equipment and small tools for assembly / calibration.Perform leak detection, pressure testing and integrity assessments of Nuclear Steam Supply Systems (NSSS).Detailed QHSE responsibilities Never undertake work without first ensuring that means will be in place to guarantee that the work can be done in a safe and compliant manner.Be suitably familiar with the contents of the Risk Assessment and Method Statements and Permit to Work Attend any HSE training, meetings, etc.as requested.Attend & participate in Toolbox Talks.Ensure that tools, equipment and materials brought into and used in the area are fully checked and are compliant with HSE requirements.Ensure that no work is carried out unless supported by the relevant specific Method Statements, Risk Assessments and Work Permits.Ensure that all incidents and near misses are reported Qualifications & Experience Required: NVQ Level 3 or above in relevant mechanical qualification.Proven experience in a heavy mechanical industry.Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to follow complex technical procedures.Excellent safety record and understanding of HSE regulations.Ability to work in a highly regulated and procedural environment.Be able to read and understand detailed engineering drawings.Nuclear experience is NOT essential for this role.Desirable: Experience in skilful, controlled manipulations of small objects & torquing techniques & processes.Experience of testing, pre-commissioning and commissioning processes Previous rigging experience & qualification.Experience with static & rotating equipment.Personal Attributes: Strong teamwork and communication skills.Willingness to work in a continuous learning environment.Physically fit and able to work in controlled and confined environments.Willingness to work shifts, including nights and weekends during refuelling outages.Willingness to travel overseas for training & outages.High integrity and commitment to safety culture.Works calmly under pressure Has a questioning attitude Challenges what is considered unacceptable behaviours What We Offer 25 days annual leave per year rising by 1 day for every 2 years worked (max 30 days) Bank Holidays 8% employer pension contribution with employee 1% contribution (salary sacrifice) Individual and family private health care Dental insurance for employees Cashplan Level 2 cover Life assurance (4x salary) Employee assistance programme (EAP) Income Protection Professional Body Membership Tusker Electric car scheme (salary sacrifice) Cycle to Work scheme (salary sacrifice) Babbel learn a new language Generous family leave Maternity and paternity 6 months full pay and 6 months half payd02fcfcb-6df4-40ee-95cf-3eb059ce3173
