Job Description Flexzo Teach | SEND Teaching AssistantFlexible opportunities with local educational settingsAbout Flexzo TeachFlexzo Teach is a recruitment, safeguarding and compliance platform that enables educational settings to book education professionals directly, without the need for an agency, managed service provider, or other third-party intermediaries.Educational settings use the platform for workforce cover, long-term placements and permanent recruitment. We are building local talent pools so more settings can switch on direct bookings in Leighton Buzzard. To expand coverage where you live, we are inviting SEND Teaching Assistants to pre-register. Getting started takes a CV upload and a short profile setup.When you join, it helps us show local educational settings that they can meet cover needs through a direct model, with transparency and direct communication with you.What you can expectAs a SEND Teaching Assistant on Flexzo Teach, you can:Access flexible work across local educational settings (short-term cover, long-term placements and permanent opportunities)Receive direct booking requests and messages from settings through the platformSet your availability and preferred working patternsSet your hourly or day rate with full transparencyBe visible to settings building internal staff banks and collaborative staff banks, meaning you may also be requested for interview as schools and trusts expand their local banksAccess opportunities supporting learners with SEND or additional needs, in line with setting expectations and agreed plansTypical responsibilities (varies by setting)Depending on the education provision, you may support with:Providing in-class, small group or 1:1 support to help learners access planned learning activitiesSupporting inclusive practice, including implementing strategies and reasonable adjustments as agreed by the settingSupporting learners to engage with routines and transitions, in line with setting guidanceRecording relevant observations or notes where required by the setting and sharing these with appropriate staffWorking under the direction of teaching staff and the SENCO (or inclusion lead) and following support plans where providedFollowing safeguarding and compliance processes and escalating concerns in line with setting policyRequirementsExperience working as a SEND Teaching Assistant in an educational setting, or strong relevant experience supporting learners with SEND or additional needsRight to work in the UKDBS certificate (or willingness to complete one if required)Confidence supporting learners with a range of needs in line with setting expectations and policiesStrong communication, consistency and professional conduct in education settingsThis is a hands-on, outdoor role, candidates must be comfortable working outside in all seasonsPay and ratesYou set your own hourly or day rate within Flexzo Teach.
