Job Title: Pastoral AssistantLocation: The Holden School, Leigh WN7 4SBSalary: 22,160.62 per annum (13.25 per hour) (not pro rata)Hours: 37.5 hours per week | Monday to FridayContract: Permanent | Term Time OnlyStart Date: February 2026UK applicants only. Many of our schools have already adopted the 4DWW, with others preparing to introduce it once fully staffedmaking now a great time to join #teamOFG.About the RoleAs a Pastoral Assistant, you will help create a positive, caring, and inclusive school environment where every pupil feels valued and supported. You will provide direct pastoral care to students, including those experiencing crisis or requiring additional emotional support, while working closely with staff to ensure consistent approaches across the school.Working alongside the Head of Behaviour and Welfare and the wider leadership team, you will help implement pastoral strategies, guide staff on effective support, and contribute to the holistic development of pupils.Key ResponsibilitiesPromote a respectful, inclusive environment recognising the value and individuality of every pupilEnsure school policies, procedures, and day-to-day practice reflect the schools ethos and challenge any inappropriate behaviourProvide direct pastoral support throughout the school day, including emotional and behavioural supportAssist class teachers with classroom management, supervision, and careContribute to the development and delivery of individual education, behaviour, and support programmesAbout YouExperience working in challenging educational environmentsProven success supporting pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needsStrong knowledge of strategies to support social, emotional, and behavioural developmentCommitment to professional standards, quality practice, and continuous improvementAbout UsThe Holden School is an independent specialist day school for boys and girls aged from 5to 16, catering for pupils with a wide range of needs in Lancashire, Manchester and surrounding areas.
