Reporting to the Engineering Shift Manager, you will play a key role in maintaining and ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of plant and machinery that supports continuous manufacturing and supply chain activities.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform both planned and reactive electrical and mechanical maintenance across multiple sitesMaintain machinery, equipment, and tools to ensure safety and optimal performanceCollaborate with production teams to minimise downtime and implement preventative maintenanceInvestigate and diagnose causes of breakdowns and faults, ensuring repairs are recorded for trend analysisManage the safe and efficient use of materials including consumables and chemicalsEnsure adherence to standard operating procedures, health and safety regulations, and quality standardsMaintain and improve engineering systems such as CMMS, KPIs, shift handovers, audits, and safety reviewsCoordinate and oversee third-party engineering contractors on siteSafeguard the wellbeing of all site personnelAbout YouThe ideal candidate will have:Proven multi-skilled engineering experience, preferably within a manufacturing environmentStrong mechanical, electrical, and building maintenance capabilities including control systems and utilitiesFamiliarity with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement principles and their practical applicationKnowledge of health & safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirementsExperience working shift patterns, including night shifts, ideally on automated sitesExcellent communication skills with a logical, methodical approach to problem-solvingAbility to handle multiple priorities and challenging situations calmly and efficientlyPrevious experience in a food manufacturing environment is advantageous but not essentialIf you are a multi-skilled maintenance engineer based in Leicester get in touch with Josh Sharkey from Stirling Warrington for this role or any other role in the East Midlands.JBRP1_UKTJ
