Job Description Job Description:Stratton Mills Recruitment is proud to be partnering with a childrens residential provider in Leicester that is seeking an experienced and dedicated Responsible Individual to oversee several childrens homes across the Leicester and Leicestershire area.This is a senior leadership position for a confident and knowledgeable professional who understands Ofsted requirements, safeguarding responsibilities, and how to drive quality across multiple services.You will split your time between the providers homes and head office, ensuring high standards of care, compliance, and operational excellence.DutiesEnsure each home operates in line with the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality StandardsUndertake and record monthly Regulation 44 monitoring visits (where applicable oversight is required)Review and monitor Regulation 45 reports and service development plansMaintain oversight of safeguarding incidents and ensure appropriate notifications are made to Ofsted and relevant authoritiesMonitor complaints, allegations, and whistleblowing concerns to ensure robust investigation and resolutionOversee safer recruitment practices and ensure compliance with safer recruitment legislationMonitor staff training compliance, supervision frequency, and performance management processesLead on Ofsted inspection preparation and provide strategic direction during inspectionsEnsure effective risk management frameworks are implemented across all homesOversee placement matching processes to ensure safe and appropriate admissionsMonitor occupancy levels, financial performance, and budget adherence in collaboration with senior leadershipReview and approve policies and procedures in line with legislative updatesChair or attend senior management meetings and provide governance-level oversightPromote a culture of continuous improvement and high-performance standardsAct as escalation point for serious incidents and provide leadership during crisis situationsEnsure positive partnership working with Local Authorities, placing teams, and external professionalsSkillsExtensive knowledge of Ofsted regulations and the Childrens Homes (England) Regulations 2015Strong understanding of Quality Standards and safeguarding legislationProven ability to provide strategic leadership across multiple servicesExcellent multi-site oversight and governance capabilityStrong experience in regulatory compliance and audit processesAbility to analyse Regulation 44 and 45 reports and implement improvement plansAdvanced risk management and safeguarding decision-making skillsConfident in leading during inspections and regulatory scrutinyExcellent leadership, mentoring, and performance management skillsAbility to support and challenge Registered Managers constructivelyStrong communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbalHigh-level report writing and documentation skillsAbility to manage complex situations calmly and decisivelyStrong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise across multiple homesFinancial awareness and understanding of budget oversightSkilled in stakeholder engagement, including Local Authorities and external professionalsAbility to drive continuous improvement and service developmentHigh levels of integrity, accountability, and professional resilienceEssential RequirementsTo be considered for this Responsible Individual role, you must have:Previous experience working as a Responsible Individual within childrens residential care (essential)Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (or equivalent)Level 5 Leadership and Management qualification in Residential Childcare (or equivalent)In-depth knowledge of Ofsted regulations and safeguarding legislationStrong leadership and multi-site management experienceAbility to travel across Leicester and LeicestershireWhats On OfferExtremely competitive salary up to 78,000 per annum (depending on experience)35 Days annual leave entitlementMonday to Friday 95 working patternSenior leadership role with autonomy and influenceOpportunity to shape and develop high-quality childrens residential servicesSupportive and forward-thinking providerIf you are an experienced Responsible Individual looking for your next senior leadership opportunity in Leicester or Leicestershire, apply today through Stratton Mills Recruitment.JBRP1_UKTJ
