New YearNew Job: HGV Recovery Driver (Days) Locations: Rotherham, Aylesford, Walsall, Hickstead, Northampton, Birmingham & Bradford Available Start Dates: 5th January, 12th January and 26th January 2026 Contract: Full-time, 4-month temp (via agency), weekly pay (Extension or permanent offer may be possible depending on business needs.) About the RoleWere recruiting HGV Recovery Drivers to work for one of the UKs leading breakdown and recovery organisations. Youll be: Attending roadside breakdowns of cars and vansRecovering and transporting vehicles to garages or customers homesProviding calm, reassuring customer service in stressful situationsWorking outdoors in all weather, independently and professionallyNo multi-drops. No loading bay queues. Every dayand every breakdownis different. We are a specialist agency for the Breakdown & Recovery industry and have worked with this client for over 8 years, so we can give you a clear picture of the role and what to expect. Who Were Looking ForWe welcome: Experienced HGV Class 2 driversNewly passed Class 2 drivers with strong large vehicle/commercial experienceThis role suits drivers who: Enjoy helping people, not just moving freightWant variety and problem-solving instead of repetitive routesCan stay calm and professional when customers are stressed or worriedRequirementsLicence: HGV Class 2 (LGV C) or aboveMax 6 points for minor offencesNo DD / DR / CD endorsementsDriver Cards & Compliance: Valid Driver CPCDigital tachograph cardGood knowledge of Drivers Hours and complianceExperience & Skills: Prefer 1-year HGV driving experience however will accept freshly passed HGV drivers who have previous experience in either 7.5T vehicles or buses / coachesConfident dealing with the publicAble to work in all weather conditionsSelf-motivated and calm under pressureTraining Provided:Full paid induction and trainingWeek 1Birmingham: classroom and practical trainingWeek 2Walsall: further technical and operational trainingWeek 3Local depot: on-the-job training and mentoringAll travel, accommodation and food expenses are paid during the first two weeks. Shifts:4 on / 4 off day shift rotaAverage 40 hours per week over the yearHours: 08:0019:00 (11 paid hours including breaks)Overtime available at end of shifts and on extra daysPay:First 12 weeks: Basic: £14.88 per hourOvertime: £16.27 per hourEstimated OTE: £33,000 per yearAfter 12 weeks worked (overtime rate increases in-line with Agency Workers Regulations (AWR)): Basic: £14.88 per hourOvertime: £28.00 per hourEstimated OTE: £35,000 per yearSome Recovery Patrols can earn £40,000+ depending on hours worked and incentives.
