We are a leading manufacturer and supplier of X-ray and metal detection equipment and are looking for a skilled Field Service Engineer to join our growing team. This is a remote, home-based role, ideal for someone with a solid background in X-ray security systems or electromechanical equipment. Salary: 38,000 - 50,000+ OTE Company vehicle or car allowance Uniform, tools, mobile phone, and laptop provided Overseas travel allowance Commission for sales leads Full product training About the Role As a Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of X-ray security equipment across the UK and abroad. This role includes regular travel within the UK and international assignments (515 days per month), requiring flexibility in working hours. Key Skills Were seeking candidates with: At least 3 years of hands-on experience servicing and troubleshooting X-ray security systems, or equivalent electromechanical expertise Experience with OEM X-ray Equipment (Rapiscan, Smiths, Astrophysics) is preferred A qualification in electronics or engineering (HNC/HND or similar preferred) Previous experience in a technical support or customer-facing service role with high-value capital equipment Excellent problem-solving, time management, and IT skills (including Microsoft Word and Excel) Sound decision making skills Strong verbal and written communication skills Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively with both colleagues and clients. A meticulous, organized approach and the ability to work independently Applicants must be able to meet the requirements for obtaining government security clearance Applications from candidates from the ex-forces are accepted (especially with radar, avionics, navigation, or REME (Royal Electrical Mechanical Engineer) experience) and those familiar with X-ray, CT, imaging, or security scanning technologies. Overseas Travel - The role involves overseas travel (up to 3-4 weeks at a time). Engineers are paid overseas allowance for all overseas work. Workload Management - normal place of work will be remote (home-based). However, you may be required to attend the companys office or other designated locations from time to time, including during periods of operational downtime or when business needs reasonably necessitate your physical presence.
