Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description Waterman Group is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our Leeds Building Services team. This role offers the opportunity to lead and deliver innovative, sustainable engineering solutions across a diverse portfolio of projects including commercial office developments, retail, industrial, and residential schemes.You will play a key role in project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and building strong relationships with clients and the wider design team.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design and delivery of mechanical building services systems including HVAC, heating and cooling systems, ventilation and public health services.Prepare and review calculations, technical specifications, reports and detailed design drawings.Coordinate designs using Revit (desirable) or IES modelling software.Take responsibility for project deliverables, programme management and quality assurance.Attend and lead client and design team meetings.Liaise with architects, structural engineers, contractors and other consultants.Undertake site inspections and provide technical support during construction stages.Mentor and support junior engineers within the team.About YouDegree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or Building Services EngineeringSignificant experience within a building services consultancy environmentProven experience delivering projects across commercial, retail, industrial and residential sectorsProficient in Revit (desirable) or experienced in IES modellingStrong understanding of UK regulations, CIBSE guidance, and industry standardsChartered status or working towards (IEng/CEng) preferredStrong communication skills with the confidence to engage directly with clientsAbility to manage workload effectively and lead projects independentlyWhat We OfferOpportunity to work on a varied and high profile project portfolioClear career progression pathway within a growing teamSupport towards professional development and chartershipCollaborative and supportive working environment
