Job DescriptionData Platform ManagerLocation: Leeds (Hybrid)Salary: Up to 70,000 per annum + 10% bonusOverview:We are looking for a Data Platform Manager to lead the development and delivery of our modern data platform, with a strong focus on Databricks. This is a strategic leadership role responsible for building the foundations of our data capability and shaping how data is used, managed, and scaled across the business.As the data platform enters its inception phase, you'll be instrumental in establishing delivery models, building relationships across the organisation, and managing a team of engineers focused on enabling robust data products and analytics.Key Responsibilities:Lead and grow a small team of data engineers and developers (initially 2 headcount)Drive the end-to-end delivery of data solutions using DatabricksDefine and implement scalable, secure, and high-performing data platform architectureEstablish strong partnerships with business stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver fit-for-purpose solutionsChampion best practices in data governance, pipeline development, and cloud infrastructureMonitor and manage platform performance, resolving issues efficientlyStay current on the evolving Databricks ecosystem and emerging technologies to keep the platform innovativeMaintain clear technical documentation and ensure delivery consistencyExperience Required:5+ years in data engineering or platform roles, with 2+ years in a management or technical leadership positionProven hands-on experience with Databricks, with broader exposure to platforms such as Hadoop or SparkStrong understanding of data processing, ETL pipelines, and warehousing principlesExperience with cloud services (AWS or Azure preferred)Excellent leadership, stakeholder engagement, and communication skillsAbility to define technical roadmaps and influence architecture decisionsDatabricks certification is a plusSkills and Competencies:Databricks and Spark ecosystemData platform strategy and governanceETL and data warehousingAWS or Azure cloud platformsAgile delivery and team managementProblem-solving and analytical mindsetWhy Join Us:Salary up to 70,000 + 10% bonusHybrid working from LeedsOpportunity to lead from the start and shape our data platform strategyDirect impact on business growth and data maturityApply now to take ownership of a data platform from the ground up and lead its growth with autonomy and purpose.
