Location: Across Scotland, based from Larkhall, ocassionaly from Paisley depot or other regional depots Position: Full-time, with availability for shift rotations (including potential emergency callouts) Reports to: Operations or Fleet Manager About Wm Hamilton & Sons With over 75 years in service, Wm Hamilton & Sons is one of Scotlands most trusted names in suction excavation (hydro-vac), road sweeping, aggregates, and bulk haulage services. Your Role: As a Hydrovac Operator, youll be at the heart of the action, executing precision suction excavation while maintaining our commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality. Key Responsibilities: Operate hydrovac trucks using high-pressure water and vacuum systemsperform slot trenching, debris removal, utility exposure, and suction excavation,andgully cleaning/maintenance. Prepare and manage job sitesconduct pre-job hazard assessments, inspect for underground utilities, and set up safe working zones. Safeguard operationsadhere to all safety and environmental protocols, remain alert to ground conditions, and safeguard against line strikes and site hazards. Maintain equipmentperform pre- and post-shift checks, routine maintenance, and promptly report or arrange repairs. Documentation & communicationrecord daily logs, complete required paperwork accurately, and liaise clearly with supervisors, team members, and clients.
