Job Description Cryptography PKI & SSH Engineer Knutsford (Hybrid) - 2 days a week on site.Guide salary: ~45-70k / Annum + benefits & bonus.A leading global financial institution is expanding its cryptography and secureaccess engineering function and is seeking an experienced PKI & SSH Engineer to help design, maintain and evolve missioncritical security infrastructure.This role suits someone who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, strengthening enterprisescale platforms, and contributing to a collaborative engineering environment focused on resilience, automation and securebydesign principles.The role:Designing, implementing and maintaining PKI, SSH and secure keymanagement frameworks across a global banking environmentSupporting and enhancing cryptographic services, secure connectivity, system hardening and Zero Trust integrationsAnalysing logs, incidents and system behaviour to identify root causes and drive longterm stabilityExecuting preventative maintenance, tuning monitoring tools and improving alerting, capacity and resiliencyDriving automation across support activities to improve efficiency and reduce operational riskParticipating in a 24/7 oncall rotation to support urgent cryptographic or accessrelated incidentsContributing to engineering strategy, risk mitigation, governance and continuous improvement initiativesExperience required:Strong background in PKI, encryption standards, secure key management and SSHbased access frameworks (Open to candidates from more generic security or IAM background too)Solid Unix/Linux/Windows system administration experienceAbility to design and maintain secure communication architectures aligned with regulatory and banking security standardsExperience with automation or scripting (Python, Go or similar)Strong networking and security troubleshooting skillsFamiliarity with ISO 27001, NIST, FIPS 1403 or similar security frameworksExcellent communication, analytical and problemsolving skillsExperience in largescale, highly regulated environments (Financial Services advantageous)Please apply within if you match the criteria above and Ill be sure to get in touch.
