Senior Electrical Technician Location: North Yorkshire Salary: competitive and based on experience Employment Type: Permanent, Full-timeManpower Engineering is recruiting on behalf of a global leader in technology. The Role You’ll assemble and test electronic/electrical components, sub-assemblies and complete assemblies for advanced subsea systems. Working from schematics and drawings in an ISO9001 environment, you’ll build wiring looms and control panels, carry out PCB-level fault-finding/repair, complete documentation, and help the team hit build/test milestones safely and to spec.The role is Monday - Thursday 8.30-16:30 and Friday 8.30-4pm.Due to the location, a driving license and your own transport will be required.Key ResponsibilitiesAssemble electronic/electrical sub-assemblies from schematics, drawings and work orders to ISO9001 standards.Wire and solder harnesses, cable assemblies, PCBs (SMT/through-hole), transformer assemblies, control consoles and connectors.Perform heavy-duty cable wiring, deck cable assembly and control system outfitting.Diagnose, fault-find and repair to PCB component level; carry out troubleshooting and functional testing.Operate computer-controlled equipment as required.Meet build times/efficiency targets for project integration and tooling/spares work orders.Complete required documentation (e.g. timesheets, ECNs) accurately and on time.Maintain high standards of housekeeping, quality and safety; follow good working practices.Other reasonable duties as assigned.Some ad-hoc travel may be required.What You’ll Bring (Essential)Hands-on panel wiring/looming (LV AC/DC) and the ability to work confidently from electrical schematics.Soldering skills (through-hole and ideally SMT) with PCB rework/fault-finding to component level.Exposure to control/data systems; awareness of high-voltage installations.Strong focus on quality, schedule and safety; accurate documentation in an ISO9001 environment.Clear communicator, organised, a team player who can work under pressure and manage detail.DesirableONC (or higher) in Electrical/Electronic Engineering.18th Edition (IET/BS 7671).Fibre-optic handling/termination experience.Experience in shop-floor build/test, production processes and equipment.QHSEAct in compliance with site QHSE requirements and personal accountability.Report unsafe or environmentally unsound acts/conditions so risks can be managed.Why Apply?Join a world-class engineering environment with tangible product impact.Varied, hands-on work across cutting-edge systems.Supportive team culture with opportunities to learn (including fibre-optic skills).
