The role will suit an experienced systems engineer with Siemens PLCs who has worked on large-scale infrastructure SCADA solutions.Our client operates as a centre of excellence for systems and software. They develop and support internationally deployed command and control solutions.Benefits:Flexible and hybrid working optionsCompressed working schedulePrivate health carePerformance bonus.Your Mission in the Company:Capture, interpret and develop customer requirementsProduce technical documentation in accordance with company/customer proceduresSpecify, design and test solutions for PLC control systemsManage data communications with third party equipmentDevelop PLC software from multiple design formats such as Block Diagrams, Flow Charts or Pseudo CodeValidate software designs through analysis and testSupport the preparation of contract changes and proposalsEssential Requirements:Eligible for SC Clearance (minimum 5 years UK residency). Single UK citizenship5+ years in a PLC engineering environmentDesign and integration of large-scale PLC Control Systems based on Siemens S7-300/400 (Step 7 Professional Classic).Experience of Fault Tolerant, High Availability and Safety Integrated PLC SolutionsExperience of Industrial Communication protocols and networking standards such as; Profibus, Profinet, EtherNet/IP, ModBus, TCP/IP, UDP and ASCIIProduction of technical documentationSCADA/PLC interfacing and driver configurationSoftware development life cycles, processes and proceduresUnderstanding of testing and commissioningDegree, HNC, HND or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic engineering or a related disciplineExperience within Defence, Maritime (Ship's machinery and control systems), Aerospace, or a similarly regulated industrial sector (eg Oil Gas, Pharma or PetroChem)SmartSourcing are a Disability Confident Employer and we promote, celebrate and value diversity, we are committed to promoting equality and inclusion for all.
