Job DescriptionPosition: Technical Sales EngineerContract: Permanent, Full TimeLocation: Worcestershire (Hybrid Working Available)Salary: circa 40K plus Performance bonus (paid twice yearly in June & December payslip), Plus Flexitime(employees can choose their working pattern)Industry: Oil & GasPRS Engineering has engaged with a new client and a leading Oil & Gas Equipment manufacturer based in the Worcestershire area. Due to team expansion and booming industry, we are seeking a Technical Sales Engineer on a permanent basis.Summary of Job:To ensure the ongoing and continuous improvement, development and consequent growth of the company with respect to sales by maintaining good working relationships with clients and agentsTo investigate potential markets and customersTo visit/entertain clients on occasion, especially where bid clarification meetings are requiredTo ensure all incoming sales enquiries are instigated efficiently and articulately within lead times and to the satisfaction of the clientTo ensure sales targets are achieved and improved upon, where possibleTo maximise profitabilityTo facilitate achievable deliveries, where possibleDuties and responsibilities:Shall be fully committed to the achievement of company policies and objectives with special respect to quality and safetyTo win orders and maximise profit for equipment, especially that of a non-standard, bespoke project natureTo ensure that quotations prepared are competitive, well presented both technically and commercially and are accurate and in accordance with customer requirementsTo clearly highlight deviations from enquiry specifications, such that Contract Review and Order Processing may be carried out in an efficient and systematic mannerTo highlight benefits, advantages and ongoing savings possible when clients purchase equipmentTo carry out preliminary mechanical design of equipment, including production of initial design calculations to determine vessel thicknesses and construction details, etc. where bespoke equipment is required, thus enabling cost effective quotations to be producedTo ensure customer satisfaction is maximised with respect to design and achievable delivery schedulesTo ensure quotations are prepared in a timely manner and in line with customer requirements, good communication is maintained with the client throughout the quotation period, advising of any delays, problems or developments concerning enquiriesResponsible for the calculation of accurate costings and realistic delivery lead times, where time permits, thus ensuring quotations achieve a high level of competitiveness yet maximise profitabilityTo request extensions to bid deadlines, where the requested date cannot be achievedTo organise, schedule and prioritise the submission of bids in the absence of the Sales ManagerTo attend to bid clarifications and queries from clients, giving commercially and technically satisfactory responsesTo produce enquiries and provide quotations for factored products associated to the rangeResponsible for continuously developing product and applications knowledge of the companys product range by attending product training sessions, studying company product and training literature and liaising closely with the Engineering department and sub-vendorsResponsible for developing a good knowledge of customers businesses, contract, markets, existing and future projectsTo build and maintain good working relationships with customers and agentsTo carry out contract reviews in accordance with in-house procedures on successful quotes/orders, resulting in a clear and detailed hand-over of contracts to the Engineering and Production departmentsResponsible for ensuring that enquiry files are well maintained in accordance with in-house proceduresTo carry out additional duties, as may become necessary, to ensure the smooth running of the sales operation and as part of ongoing improvements and developmentTo undertake reasonable instructions and tasks from senior personnel, commensurate with the nature of the job and in the best interests of the companyQualifications/ExperienceGCSE minimum grade 4/5 (or equivalent Grade C) in English and Maths HNC inMechanical Engineering or equal/higher Proficient in Microsoft Office Previous technical experience in sales/customer service preferredKey CompetenciesGood verbal and written communication skillsProfessional personal presentationInitiative and driveReliability and focusAttention to detailAdaptableMust be able to work as part of a team and meet deadlinesBenefitsCompany bonusCompany pension schemeLife insurance (death in service)23 days holiday (19 floating days, 4 fixed towards Christmas shutdown) +extra service days +BankHolidays +Birthday Leave (after 2 full calendar years service)Training opportunitiesFree on-site parkingFree eye tests and contribution towards lenses/spectacles for VDU users, if appropriateHours of workOffice hours enable flexi-time working, covering a 37-hour week.
