The business operates across multiple UK and European sites, delivering highly technical solutions within a regulated industrial environment. The organisation offers a collaborative culture, strong safety focus, and opportunities for professional development.The RoleThe Utilities Engineer is responsible for supporting the maintenance, operation, and continuous improvement of site utility systems within a complex industrial environment. The position provides a mechanically biased maintenance service, ensuring reliable site operations while maintaining full compliance with safety standards, regulations, and company procedures.The successful candidate will support boiler house operations and critical infrastructure systems, ensuring continuity of supply across the site. A BOAS certification is not essential at entry, however the successful individual will be expected to obtain certification and participate in the call out rota.Key ResponsibilitiesEnsure continuity of site utility servicesSupport boiler house operations and dutiesMaintain and repair fire suppression systemsMaintain HVAC systemsMaintain steam and compressed air systemsCarry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM)Installations, remedial repairs, replacements, and upgradesRespond to urgent reactive maintenance issuesGeneral mechanical repairs across site systemsParticipate in the boiler house call-out rota (after training and gaining experience)Ensure site compliance with current regulations and safety standardsEssential RequirementsQualificationsCity & Guilds or NVQ Level 2 in an engineering related disciplineExperienceMinimum 3 years experience within an industrial or commercial environmentExperience maintaining HVAC systemsDesirable Skills & ExperienceBOAS Certification (IBO) - training provided if not already heldBoiler house operation experienceIPAF and PASMA certificationAsbestos awarenessL8 awarenessExperience using CAFM or CMMS systemsPersonal AttributesStrong communication and interpersonal skillsExcellent organisational and time management abilityComputer literateAbility to interpret and follow technical drawings
