As a Senior Manager within Supplier Management, you’ll manage a portfolio of third-party suppliers who provide services to support Collections & Recoveries and Teams supporting vulnerable customers. You’ll be responsible for managing performance and conduct of suppliers, ensuring adherence to contracted Service Level Agreements and Nationwide’s Supplier Relationship Management framework. You will also be expected to be a subject matter expert in your field and be comfortable working in an agile environment.External suppliers play a vital role in our success, and you’ll also have the opportunity to help shape how we utilise our supplier partners to best effect, whether that’s by providing specialist support to our customers in financial difficulty or engaging with our charity partners.At Nationwide we offer hybrid working wherever possible. You can also find out more about our approach to hybrid working here.If we receive a high volume of relevant applications, we may close the advert earlier than the advertised date, so please apply as soon as you can.What you’ll be doingYou’ll be the primary point of contact at Nationwide for your own suppliers, responsible for driving performance and ensuring robust controls are in place and regularly reviewed. You’ll be asked to provide and talk through performance and control updates relating to your own suppliers at various internal meetings and be responsible for monthly tracking of SLAs and managing any exceptions. A key part of this role is to ensure that our panel of Support Services is fit for purpose and meets our customers’ needs, you will do this by analysing data and working closely with other areas to evidence outcomes. You’ll also be expected to have a commercial lens on supplier management to ensure that services provided represent good value for money for the Society and its members, working closely with Procurement.You’ll also work closely with the Central Controls team, Compliance, Third Party Risk, Specialist Risk Functions and Audit teams and facilitate their independent reviews of your suppliers where required, agreeing remedial actions to close any controls gaps. You’ll collaborate regularly with C&R Strategy, Policy and Operations teams where relevant.As a Senior Manager in C&R, you can influence change and should play an active role in shaping future strategy, with a particular focus on how third-party supplier relationships can support us and our customers.About youAs a minimum requirement you’ll have:Experience of managing 3rd party suppliersAn in-depth knowledge of vulnerabilities, partially in the Consumer Duty spaceA good understanding of Credit Management & the regulatory frameworks within it, including identification and management of risks and incidentsExperience in the use of MI reporting to identity trends and areas of improvement and recognising gaps in our offeringA professional and commercially pragmatic approachExcellent interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to effectively communicate at all levels with a proven track record of influencing funding decisionsThe ability to understand multiple complex issues and lead/contribute to strategic debateHigh personal standards, showing the ability to be influential, flexible and confidentOur customer first behaviours put customers and members at the heart of how we work together.
