Nene Valley Surgery is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Salaried GP to join our friendly and supportive team for 6 to 8 sessions per week. We are a well-established GMS practice, consistently performing well in QOF, and we participate in the majority of DES and LES. We also provide family planning and minor surgery clinics. The successful post-holder will work as part of a multidisciplinary primary care team, delivering high-quality, patient-centred care to our registered and temporary patients. Main duties of the jobThe post-holder will be responsible for the delivery of general medical services within primary care and will manage a clinical caseload covering a wide range of health needs, ensuring the highest standards of care at all times. About usNene Valley Surgery is a purpose-built dispensing practice located in Thrapston, just off the A14. The building opened in 1996 and serves a population of approximately 7,000 patients. Our current GP team consists of: 2 full-time GPs 1 long-term locum GP The clinical team is supported by: A Clinical Pharmacist 2 Nurse Practitioners 2 Treatment Room Nurses 1 Nursing Associate A First Contact Physiotherapist A Paramedic Home Visiting Service Daily Paediatric Nurse Clinics A Social Prescriber Care Coordinators supporting care home residents and elderly, frail patients We provide medical care to two residential care homes with a total of 97 residents. The management and administrative team includes: A Practice Manager, supported by a Deputy Practice Manager 6 Care Navigators 1 Medical Secretary Our on-site dispensary team includes: 2 Dispensers 1 Pharmacy Technician, who is also the Dispensary Manager Person Specification Essential Qualifications MRCGP or equivalent Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) with a licence to practise in the UK (DBS) This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check will be required. UK Registration Applicants must hold current UK professional registration. Job responsibilitiesUndertake a full range of GP duties including face-to-face consultations, telephone consultations, and responding to online triage queries via Anima (total triage system) Carry out home visits and care home visits as required Review, action and sign repeat and acute prescriptions Review test results, correspondence and clinical paperwork in a timely manner Use and maintain accurate clinical records using TPP / SystmOne, ICE, Choose and Book, and digital dictation systems Assess patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed presentations Screen patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness in line with current clinical guidelines and practice protocols Develop, review and implement individual care plans Provide health education and counselling where appropriate Refer patients to secondary care and other services using appropriate referral pathways Admit or discharge patients from caseloads as clinically indicated Maintain clear, accurate and contemporaneous consultation notes Collect data for audit, quality improvement and QOF purposes Prescribe in accordance with the practice formulary, NICE guidance and local policies, using generic prescribing where clinically appropriate Undertake all normal duties associated with a GP working under a GMS contract, including some on-call duties and visits Person SpecificationQualificationsMRCGP or equivalent Full registration with the General Medical Council GMC with a licence to practise in the UK Disclosure and Barring Service CheckThis post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.#J-18808-Ljbffr
