Purchasing Assistant

Job Description Salary: 28,000-30,000Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pmThe Purchasing Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient supply of raw materials and packaging required for production. Working closely with suppliers and internal teams across Production, NPD, Sales and Technical, you will help coordinate purchasing activities, maintain strong supplier relationships and ensure materials are available when needed to support site operations.This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and wants to develop their career within purchasing and supply chain.What Youll Be Doing Manage the purchasing of raw materials and packaging required for site operationsLiaise with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing and delivery schedules while building strong long term supplier relationshipsIssue purchase orders and monitor delivery schedules, following up on any late or incomplete deliveriesWork with suppliers to resolve service issues and support ongoing supplier reviewsEnsure all required supplier documentation is provided to the Technical team prior to approval, including accreditation, MSDS, allergen statements and COA documentationMaintain accurate stock adjustments and bookings within the DEAR system while reviewing packaging requirements and managing stock levels of key linesWork closely with Production, Sales and clients regarding new and ongoing orders and provide quotations where requiredSupport new product development projects by working with NPD on formulations and costingsTrack purchasing activity against sales orders, maintain purchasing and pre schedule spreadsheets and monitor KPIs and performance targetsSupport wider business initiatives focused on right first time performance, continuous improvement and reducing waste and downtime Whats In It for You Opportunity to join a collaborative and fast moving manufacturing businessExposure to the full purchasing process including supplier management, procurement and supply chain coordinationThe chance to work cross functionally with production, NPD, sales and technical teamsA varied role offering responsibility and the opportunity to develop within purchasing and supply chain Your Background Previous experience within a purchasing, procurement or supply chain roleExperience working within manufacturing or a similar fast paced environment would be beneficialStrong communication skills with the ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal teamsHigh attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple prioritiesConfident using Excel and business systems with the ability to manage data and reportingJoin a Business That Keeps Production Moving This role sits at the centre of the supply chain, ensuring the right materials arrive at the right time to support production and customer demand.If you are organised, commercially aware and enjoy working with suppliers and cross functional teams, this is an excellent opportunity to develop your career within purchasing and supply chain.
