Payroll Manager

Job Description Were looking for a Payroll Manager to lead the payroll function for a business with approximately 1,500 employees across multiple sites.This is a great opportunity for an experienced payroll professional who enjoys taking ownership of end-to-end payroll operations, improving processes, and acting as the go-to payroll expert across the organisation.Reporting into the Financial Operations Manager, youll work closely with Finance, HR and operational teams to ensure payroll is delivered accurately, compliantly and on time.Key ResponsibilitiesManage end-to-end payroll (two 4-weekly and two monthly payrolls)Process salary changes, tronc, statutory payments and deductionsComplete payroll journals and balance sheet reconciliationsEnsure compliance with UK payroll legislation and HMRC requirementsProduce statutory documents (P45s, P60s etc.)Handle payroll queries across the businessSupport audits, HMRC queries and pension submissionsLead the transition to payrolling benefits (April 2027)Ensure National Minimum Wage compliance and strong payroll controlsAbout YouProven experience managing payroll in a fast-paced environmentStrong understanding of UK payroll legislation and complianceExperience with tronc administration is highly beneficialAdvanced Excel skills and experience with payroll systems (Fourth experience helpful)Strong communication skills and the ability to partner with teams across the businessDetails Kent (office based) Full-time 37.5 hours per week Competitive salary + benefits
