Senior Finance Officer 30,000 34,000 | Kendal | 37.5 hours | Permanent Im working exclusively with a well-established organisation in the South Lakes area that is looking to strengthen its finance team with the appointment of a Finance Officer.If you want to know about the requirements for this role, read on for all the relevant information.This is a varied role where youll be involved in the day-to-day running of the finance function, while also supporting month-end, reporting and audit.It would suit someone who enjoys a hands-on role but also wants exposure to the bigger picture.The role Youll be supporting the Head of Finance and working closely with the wider team to ensure strong financial control.Responsibilities will include: Supporting purchase ledger processing and supplier payment runs Posting income and investigating discrepancies Bank, control account and intercompany reconciliations Preparing month-end journals, accruals and prepayments Monitoring weekly cashflow and highlighting any issues Preparing VAT returns Assisting with management accounts, budgets and reporting Supporting year-end and audit preparation Providing guidance and support to Finance Assistants Acting as a first point of contact for day-to-day finance queries What theyre looking for Solid experience in a finance role covering reconciliations and reporting Comfortable working with cloud-based systems (Xero would be an advantage) Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem solving Confident communicator who can work with non-finance colleagues Well organised and able to manage competing deadlines Part-qualified (AAT) or qualified by experience candidates will be considered.Candidates with no notice or short notice will be highly desirable.The opportunity This is a stable organisation with a strong presence locally and a supportive finance structure.The role offers a good mix of transactional responsibility and broader finance exposure, along with the chance to be part of a team that works closely with the wider business. xjdpvnf If youre looking for a varied finance role in the South Lakes and would like to know more, feel free to get in touch with James at Turver Jones for a confidential conversation.
