Job Title : Commis Chef Location : Guinness Open Gate Brewery London, Old Brewers Yard, Covent Garden, London Opening Date : December 2025 (pre-opening training begins 3rd November 2025) Salary : 13.85 per hour depending on experience Employment Type : Full-time About Us Guinness is proud to return to London with the opening of the Guinness Open Gate Brewery in Covent Garden - a world-class destination combining innovation, craft and hospitality. Set across multiple levels, it will feature a working brewery, bars, tasting rooms and dining experiences that celebrate the rich heritage and future of Guinness. As Commis Chef, you'll join our opening kitchen team, learning from talented chefs while helping to deliver fresh, modern food that pairs perfectly with our beers. What You'll Do Support your section and senior chefs in preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to high standards. Maintain kitchen cleanliness, organisation and food safety at all times. Learn and develop new skills - from prepping ingredients and mastering techniques to understanding service flow in a high-end venue. Work efficiently and collaboratively, keeping communication open across the kitchen team. Assist in stock rotation, deliveries, and mise en place preparation. Take part in training sessions ahead of the December opening, learning about Guinness flavours and food pairings. Who You Are Enthusiastic, reliable, and eager to learn - you take pride in doing things the right way. Some kitchen or hospitality experience is ideal, but most importantly you bring a positive attitude and a passion for food. You thrive in a busy, team-oriented environment.
