Job Description ROLE Mechanical Design EngineerSALARY - 30,000 - 40,000, dependent on experienceTYPE PermanentLOCATION Isle of Wight (hybrid working is available) My client designs and manufactures bespoke equipment. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team on the Isle of Wight on a permanent basis.The Mechanical Design Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:At least 1-3 years experience in a similar Design / Mechanical Engineering positionStrong 3D CAD skills - ideally Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo or similar Experience designing sheet metal, precision equipment, machinery, or electronic products Degree qualified or similar in Mechanical Engineering Knowledge of a variety of materials sheet metal, injection moulded plastics etc. Experienced designing products from concept to production Good theoretical mechanical engineering knowledge of core principles and tight tolerancesExcellent communication skills both verbal and writtenProficient using MS OfficeExcellent organisational skills and time management skillsHave the ability to work well alone as well as part of a small multi-disciplinary teamThe Mechanical Design Engineer role will involve:Being responsible for the Design and Development of various electromechanical products Using Inventor 3D CAD software for design on a day-to-day basisDeveloping ideas from concept to production Creating models/prototypesLiaising with clients and developing solutions for design specificationsCollaborating with different departments to ensure the smooth delivery of projects Maintaining technical drawings and documentation Providing technical guidance and supportSupporting product Testing, Verification & Validation If you are interested in this position, please apply with an up to date CV as soon as possible.
