Job Description Highways Design Engineer Location: Ipswich, IP1The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Highways Design Engineer to support the delivery of a wide range of highways, traffic engineering and active travel schemes.This role is ideal for an engineer looking to take ownership of projects while working collaboratively with clients and internal design teams.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and deliver highway improvement, traffic engineering and active travel schemesProduce design drawings, reports and supporting technical documentationOrganise and undertake site visits, surveys and investigationsDeliver projects to agreed timescales and budgetsEnsure compliance with quality, Health & Safety and Environmental standardsCoordinate multidisciplinary design teams and sub-consultantsWork collaboratively with clients to develop project objectives and technical solutionsBuild and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholdersSkills & ExperienceDegree in Civil Engineering or equivalent experienceMinimum 6 years experience in highways designStrong understanding of Local Highway Authority standardsCommercial awareness in project deliveryExperience mentoring or supporting junior engineersWorking knowledge of programme tools such as ASTAKnowledge of DMRB, Manual for Streets, LTN 1/20 and related guidanceExperience using AutoCAD (drainage, alignment and traffic signage experience desirable)Competent IT skills, including Microsoft OfficeFull UK/EEC driving licenceInterested?
