Job Description: Senior Care Assistant (Night Shift) Position: Senior Care Assistant (Nights) Location: Ipswich, UK Salary: 13.34 per hour / Competitive, based on experience] Contract: Permanent, 30 to 40 hours per week Shift Pattern: Nights, 8:45 PM to 7:00 AM Role Summary: We are seeking a dedicated, compassionate, and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our night team.Make your application after reading the following skill and qualification requirements for this position.In this pivotal role, you will provide leadership and support to the care team during the night, ensuring the highest standards of care are delivered safely and with dignity.You will be responsible for the well-being of our residents throughout the night, responding to their needs, and ensuring a calm and secure environment.Please Note: We don't offer visa sponsorship.Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK indefinitely.Key Responsibilities Clinical & Personal Care: Provide high-quality, person-centred care to residents during the night, assisting with personal care, toileting, and continence management.Support residents with mobility and repositioning, in line with their care plans and using appropriate equipment.Administer medication to residents safely and accurately, in accordance with company policy and NICE guidelines.Monitor and record residents' health indicators, such as temperature, pulse, and blood pressure, as required.Respond promptly to call bells and emergency situations, providing reassurance and practical support.Leadership & Team Support: Provide supervision, support, and guidance to Care Assistants on the night shift.Act as a point of contact for the team, delegating tasks effectively and ensuring a smooth running of the shift.Assist with the induction and mentoring of new team members.Care Planning & Record Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in care plans, medication administration records (MARs), and other relevant documentation.Contribute to the development and review of residents' care plans, reporting any changes in a residents condition to the Home Manager or senior on-call.Safety & Compliance: Ensure all health and safety procedures are followed, including infection control, COSHH, and moving and handling regulations.Conduct regular checks on residents and the building to ensure a safe and secure environment throughout the night.Uphold the principles of safeguarding, protecting residents from harm and reporting any concerns immediately.Person Specification Essential Qualifications & Experience: Proven experience as a Care Assistant or Senior Care Assistant in a UK care home setting.A recognised Level 3 NVQ/Diploma in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification).A valid medication administration certificate.A solid understanding of the Mental Capacity Act (MCA), Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), and CQC fundamental standards.Experience in leading or supervising a team.Legal right to work in the UK without sponsorship.Skills & Qualities: Compassionate & Patient: A genuine passion for caring for others, especially the elderly.Excellent Communicator: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with residents, families, and colleagues.Resilient & Calm: Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle challenging situations with empathy and professionalism.Observant & Proactive: Keen eye for detail, noticing changes in residents' conditions and acting accordingly.Reliable & Trustworthy: Punctual, responsible, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.Team Player: A supportive and collaborative approach to leading the night team.What We Offer A competitive hourly rate and comprehensive benefits package.A supportive and friendly working environment.Ongoing training and career development opportunities.Company pension scheme.Uniform provided.d02fcfcb-6df4-40ee-95cf-3eb059ce3173
