Director of Civil Engineering

Pay: Up to 55,000.00 per year Job description: Buyer Buying & Plant Hire About Us My Client. is a leading name in the gas infrastructure and civil engineering industry. Were now looking for a Buyer to join our Ilkeston head office to support our nationwide projects. The Role This is a fast-paced role ideal for someone with experience in purchasing and plant hire within the civils or construction industry. Youll be responsible for sourcing and purchasing materials, fittings, valves and equipment to exact client specifications. Youll also manage the hire of both light and heavy plant and equipment for project sites across the UK. Key Responsibilities: Support project teams by providing a comprehensive buying service across multiple UK-based projects. Procure materials and equipment on time and within budget. Negotiate prices, contracts and manage supplier tenders. Establish and maintain strong supplier relationships. Work closely with project teams to ensure correct specification and standards. Draft, agree and maintain commercial terms and supply agreements. Address supplier performance issues and suggest improvements. Provide monthly procurement reports to Directors. What Were Looking For: Proven experience as a Buyer in a construction, civils or utilities-based environment. Excellent commercial awareness and the ability to analyse and challenge supplier quotations. Experience in both buying and plant hire is essential. CIPS qualification is desirable but not essential. Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills. Reliable, committed and proactive with a can-do attitude. Honest, transparent and a strong team player. Why Join Us?
