Job Description Adults Safeguarding Lawyers (x2)Location: Ilford areaContract: 6 monthsRate: 378.73 per day (Inside IR35) / 7,574.60 per monthTwo experienced Adults Safeguarding Lawyers are required to support a local authority legal service based in the Ilford area on a sixmonth interim basis.This is an opportunity to work within a busy adult social care legal team, providing highquality advice on safeguarding and Court of Protection matters.Role OverviewThe successful candidates will provide a comprehensive and professional legal service across all aspects of adult social care law and act as a key source of legal expertise within the service.Key ResponsibilitiesProviding legal advice, guidance and practical assistance across Adult Social Care servicesManaging Court of Protection work, including complex and sensitive mattersAdvising on ordinary residence, duties under the Care Act 2014, local government law and judicial review proceedingsConducting a full range of adults services cases, including those raising complex or significant issuesUndertaking advocacy in the Courts and Tribunals where rights of audience permitPreparing cases end to end, including reviewing evidence, drafting applications, reports and court documentationHandling child protection matters where required, ensuring cases are progressed efficientlyCandidate RequirementsQualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of CILExDemonstrable experience in Adult Social Care and safeguarding lawStrong Court of Protection experienceAbility to manage a varied caseload with minimal supervision in a local authority settingApplications are invited from candidates available for an interim assignment who are able to commit to an initial sixmonth contract.
